Mom is a Theology teacher and campus minister for money. Previously, she taught math, swimming, coached volleyball and swimming, and worked in a bank. (Harmony's understanding of Mom's work in the bank is still unclear. She likes to think Mom was a goblin at Gringotts.) Mom has always been connected to the outdoors. Her family lived on a lake in Michigan for much of her childhood--the word summer was synonymous to the words swimming and sailing. Before her official start to college, Mom participated in LandSea. She still occasionally cracks open her old journal when she is feeling nostalgic.
Mom and Dad shared their faith and their love of nature with Harmony and Sister by following Sunday morning Mass with hikes in the Appalachian mountains.
Last time Mom was in Europe, she was younger than Harmony.

Harmony teaches math, leads adventure trips, and coaches swimming for money. Her pilgrimage began in 2005 or 2006 when a professor at the College of William and Mary tried to drum up interest for his one credit course on El Camino. The professor's presentation quietly ignited Harmony's curiosity, which later grew to passion, for exploring the outdoors. After completing her undergraduate degree, Harmony pursued a Masters of Arts in Teaching while concurrently completing the requirements for an Outdoor Leadership Certification. Harmony began seriously planning for this walk in the spring of 2009. Her education, career, and faith have lead her to The Way.
Sister is the blog's home-base editor. She honed her sense of design through work on her high school's yearbook. Senior year, Sister was the yearbook editor putting together an award winning comic book themed annual. Since then Sister has explored her myriad other talents. She is happy to stay home and not share sleeping quarters with 103 other pilgrims. If we are lucky, Sister will sprinkle some of her talent on the design elements of this blog. And maybe, just maybe, we can get her to write a stateside post.
Update: Sister is at home with Dad. Sister is planning on spending her summer working out and finishing her thesis. She will spend her spare time nurturing her hedgehog and training Harmony's dog, as well as continuing to tame Mom's crazy dog. She enjoys reading updates on the blog and receiving emails from her family (whom she misses dearly).
